LNPS Learner Agency

At Lockleys North Primary school we believe that all learners can and will be successful. Our vision is to develop a community of empowered learners who strive for success. Our values shape our vision, beliefs and way of being. Respect, Care and Concern, Honesty and Pursuit of Excellence guide every part of our culture, relationships, and teaching and learning.

At Lockleys North Primary School, we cultivate authentic learner agency through a deliberately scaffolded leadership pathway that empowers every student to lead, influence and contribute.

From Reception to Year 3, students engage as Student Leaders in Rising Voices, articulating ideas, gathering peer feedback and developing confident student voice.

In Years 4-6, our Student Ambassador program expands this foundation, enabling students to represent the school and lead strategic initiatives while distributing leadership across cohorts; ambassadors play an active and visible role by hosting LNPS TV and news, facilitating Rising Voices meetings, supporting library and lunchtime programs, and coordinating community events such as fundraising stalls and special days.

By Year 6, students demonstrate exemplary leadership through senior leadership responsibilities that shape community culture and operations. These include, hosting whole-school assemblies, leading technical and stage teams, supporting major events such as Book Week, and driving sustainability initiatives like recycling and waste management. They further contribute through community roles across the school, house captains, wellbeing programs, and culminating experiences such as graduate speeches, demonstrating maturity, accountability and strong student agency.
